The EPA and Interior Department are changing how the scientific basis for regulations are made by replacing half of the scientific review boards. This has implications in how the science is interpreted and where it will be directed.

The giant panda is not considered endangered anymore on the IUCN’s storied red list, but it still requires continued conservation effort. The measures of protection and restoration of the forest in the panda’s range by China are by far the most responsible for this downlisting. The measures will be further strengthened through programs involved; these programs put their extensive efforts in perfecting the negative factors causing the threats. Climate change is a future threat, however the research and outlook of its affect on the species is also being treated as importance. The pandas are looking at a positive outcome but there is still a lot more that can take place to help them reach safety.

Hormone oxytocin is known as the love or mothering association hormone in humans. In Anemonefish it is utilized by fathers and it gives them the ability to be “motherly” to their offspring. Finding the same hormone used in humans and across other species brings importance in the concepts that can be learned from the findings.
